Having been working on getting the website up and running has given me a good opportunity to reflect on the work I’ve both made and exhibited. As always there is always way too much work to show and reflects I’m sure every artists difficulty in selecting what is worth showing and what is not. For me this seems to be even more complex as the actual process of making is more important to me than the resulting object(s). Also the ephemeral nature of my work also raises issues around whether the solidity of documentation is just another piece of work, the original work of art appearing somewhere else and usually gone. The idea of performance again comes to the foreground and wondering whether this is or should be part of my practice. But no I don’t think it is as the making, although more important to me is probably primary because it is private, where I can choose the moments and objects to share with the viewer.
So back to the studio and new adventures await.
